I made a website for my book, A Trail Called Home: Tree Stories from the Golden Horseshoe, published by Dundurn Press in 2019. https://www.atrailcalledhome.ca  A Trail Called Home is a good primer on the ecology and natural history of the Golden Horseshoe. It's a 232 page hardcover with 78 full colour images and would make a nice Christmas gift for the nature buff in your family. The book is available at Indigo, Amazon, your local book seller or by messaging me at bigblueoak@gmail.com. The website features content from the book, as well as my nature photography in Southern Ontario over the last 25 years.

Blue Oak is a nickname for Bur Oak (Quercus macrocarpa), a tough tree able to grow on hard pan clays, rolling sands, and in urban environments on a variety of moisture conditions. Bur Oak is an excellent choice for any garden or restoration project.
